Growing Up Mixed is a collection of nostalgic and emotional works, heavily influenced by a mix of African-American and Panamanian cultures. Each shirt represents a thought, a memory, or an experience lived growing up in America as a mixed kid. Including thought-provoking pieces such as ‘Space Girl’ and ‘State of Mind’, Amari hopes to visualize experience while maintaining a colorful future through bright and varied colors and patterns in her designs.

‘Congo Dreams’ and ‘Mola’ are Panamanian influences, representing her love for dance and her familiarity with something that is not familiar to others. A type of art that her mother always encouraged her to take part in, she hopes to spread her country's beauty to the world.
